Use the JavaScript .toUpperCase( ) string method to assign an all uppercase version of the id variable to the userName

app.js
var id = "23188xtr";
var lastName = "Smith";
var idupp= id.toUpperCase( )
var userName= idupp+lastName;

I'm assuming that you're trying to complete Part 2 of the challenge? Look very closely at all of the characters in the challenge description and compare it to your userName variable. To give a little hint you're missing a #; other than that re-examine your string.

this should work var userName = id.toUpperCase();
