Android Build an Interactive Story App (Retired) User Input Getting Text from an EditText

user input can you help me please guys

The code below sets an EditText variable from the layout of an Activity. Set the petName variable to the value from this EditText.

Hey MUZ140073 matambanadzo!

What you want to do is get the text from petNameField using a special method.

Then, because you want it as a string, you want to chain the .getString() method onto the previous method.

If you get into trouble again, do check the video again, there is no harm in skipping through it! It's very clear as to how it works on the video :)
