"Using media queries for images only works in CSS for background images." What does this mean and why is it false?

I don't completely understand what this statement is trying to say. If it means that you can only use CSS to swap out images of different sizes then isn't it true that this can only be done for background images? You can't use CSS to change the src of an img element.

It's false because media queries work for more things, not just for background images.
