JavaScript AJAX Basics (retiring) AJAX Concepts A Simple AJAX Example

var, vs Const or Let in AJAX

In this video, Dave is using var for the variable. In other JavaScript videos, they emphasize the use of const and let for the variables. Is this because of the date the video was made (before the standard changes), scoping issues (an answer I found on stackoverflow.com), AJAX needing specific variable configuration, or just because that is what he did?

My guess would be the course is dated. Currently it's best practice to use let and const.

Clayton, Thank you.
