10,080 PointsVertical responsive design and page position CSS
Hey everyone. I read this fantastic article but that's not what I'm posting about.
I have an idea about creating a website for a long-form article I want to work on but I really want to give it the same pop that this article at the New York Times has. link
I know about responsive design and this article has it for sure. It also has vertical responsive design as well. Are there treehouse videos or other resources that go over this more? Also, where can I read up more on CSS affects that take place while scrolling up and down?
The map affect in the article is pretty nice too and it's clear that it's tied to a user's scroll position. What is that called and where can I get more information about it?
Thanks ahead of time.

4,633 PointsNot sure how New York Times has it set up, but I have seen some similar pages that use javascript to determine how far up or down a user scrolls the page. Pehaa's blog has some examples of using an animate on scroll effect.
A JQuery tutorial http://pehaa.com/2011/08/intriguing-animate-on-scroll-effect-jquery-tutorial/.
