Waiting for the next Android course? Check out this workshop as a primer

In the next Android course we will use Parse.com as the backend for the Ribbit app (like in the iOS Build a Self-Destructing Message App project). If you want to get some practice with Parse beforehand, check out this workshop I did on Parse for Android a while back: http://teamtreehouse.com/library/treehouse-workshops/using-parsecom-as-the-backend-for-an-android-app

Hi Ben, thanks for the tip, but the video won't start. Will you also be working with SQLite databases in this next Android course?

Hmmm...I don't know why the video wouldn't be starting for you. Does everything on the screen load up?

We won't be covering SQLLite databases in the upcoming Ribbit app, but we do plan on covering them in the future. In the mean time, check out this tutorial. Lars Vogel's stuff is usually really good: http://www.vogella.com/articles/AndroidSQLite/article.html

Hi Ben, "Build a Self-Destructing Message iPhone App for IOS"

I have just tried to submit my version of this app to the App Store for the first time and it was rejected for the following reasons:

2.2 We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, when reviewed on iPhone 5s running iOS 7.0.4, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines:

  • Specifically, the recipient does not receive a photo.

I am not sure what this meant.

Can you assist?

Sorry you are having trouble with this! Are you still unable to submit? Have you been able to reproduce the bug on your own?
