Want to know what framework to build my final year project in?

For my final year project I will have to code a website which links to a database. It will more than likely be a commerce website. We have used mainly asp.net in university but don't find it very appealing. What language/framework would be useful to use for this? Im thinking in terms of relatively easy to learn up and produce a nice final product.

Hi Damien,

Personally I love Ruby on Rails. However I wouldn't recommend it for two reasons. Firstly, it has quite a high learning curve. Secondly, although it has some gems for ecommerce, it's overly complicated for just creating a simple commerce site.

I would probably just recommend PHP for the site and MySQL for the database linking. Not a huge learning curve and everything is covered here on Treehouse.

Thats just my opinion :D

Good luck.
