what are we supposed to do in task 1?

Each code challenge and quiz have a reason behind it.

In this code challenge, Instructor wants you to get used to typing HTML tag and element.

In Challenge one: Instructor wants you to add <style> element before <h1>.

<body>
   <style></style>
    <h1>Nick Pettit</h1>
</body>

Once you open any HTML element you will have to close them with their closing element except self-closing elements or void elements. Here you will close like this </style>.

If you look closely you can find a common thing in closing tags and element is / before element and tag.

I hope this helps.

They want you to add a style tag. Don't read too much into it, they want you to practice writing tags. It should look like this: < style></style > That's a style tag. There are no style elements within the tag yet, you'll probably do that in the next task. The tag goes before the h1 tag, not inside it. Good luck!

Great thank you.
