Courses Plus Student 6,135 PointsWeb Design vs. Front End Web Development tracks
I'm just beginning my journey into coding. I've begun the Web Design track but am torn between this and the Front End Web Development track. I feel like I don't know enough HTML to simply jump into so much CSS in the Web Design course; but maybe I should just stick with it?
If it helps, my goals are to learn to to build websites first, then I plan on learning PHP (and later RUBY) along with Wordpress Development. In the end I'd like to land a job building websites as a jumping off point.
Any suggestions about which of the two above tracks I should commit to first?
Thanks for you time and consideration,
Josh

9,306 PointsGreetings Josh,
Don't be too intimidated by CSS, sometimes the best way to learn is to jump right into it, break things and learn how to fix them. Really you could only know basic HTML and learn to style it with CSS.
Regarding your goals, that sounds like a great plan. You might also want to consider learning some JavaScript for the front in to combine with your HTML/CSS skills (these skills are front end). If your looking to learn how to build the actual website and then learn backend languages such as PHP and Ruby I would (strictly opinion here) go with the front end, but you can use the Web Design track to just enhance your builds.
Hope this helped a little and good luck!
