What am I doing wrong in trying to get the total profit?

var profit = profit + quantity * (salestotal - wholesalePrice);

script.js
var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;
var profit = profit + quantity * (salestotal - wholesalePrice);

Hey Stephan. You're almost there. One problem is you created a variable named 'profit' and put that same variable within itself. Also, you want to multiply the wholesalePrice variable by the quantity variable. This is then subtracted by the salesTotal variable.

var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;
var profit = salesTotal - (wholesalePrice * quantity);

Hope this helps.
