what am I doing wrong with this try throw catch statement?

try{
        var num =parseInt(prompt("pick a number"));
        if (num===NaN){
            throw console.log("that isnt a number");
        }
        function mult(num){
             var number=num*2;
             console.log(number);
        }
        mult()

}
catch(e){

}

The throw function takes an object as it's parameter. Some more info here

In your code you're sending the results of the console.log statement to throw and console.log will return undefined.

Note: you can throw a string.
