21,340 PointsWhat are the best alternatives to choose if a .com TLD is not available.
I see a lot of TLD like: .tech .site .org .info .io .me .website .us, etc...
In your opinion, what will be the next best one to use if the one I'm looking for (.com) is not available?
Thanks in advance for your answers and suggestions!!

.io is pretty hip in the tech field right now regardless, but it's also about ten times more expensive at around $60 usd a year. -- apparently cheaper, at about $32.88 a year. Thanks William!

Courses Plus Student 26,868 Points.com domain name is more for company/corporation website, for personal webpage/profolio, you really don't need it, there're many to choose from, some popular ones are .me, .net, .io.
Also, about Justin's comment on the .io domain's pricing, yeah, that used to be the case, it's quite expensive; but NameCheap (which is my favorite domain registrar) was starting to offer .io domain, since 2014, at about $32.88/yr :)

18,199 PointsFor a personal site you have a lot of leeway, since it'll often be visited through links you provide. Pretty much anything you like would work. You'll just maybe want to choose something somewhat popular, as unknown domain extensions will worry some people.
