What are the percentages decimals so long?

I get that the width, width and margin add up to 100%, but why not have a margin of 2%, then width of 65.33333333 and 32.66666666? I sure it's obvious, but if someone could explain to me please? :)

I think it just comes down to looking right on screen and nothing more fancy than that. 2% margin would actually look quite off putting. It's exactly these kinds of things (repeating decimal numbers) that can more easily be handled with Sass where you can use calculations and fraction expressions rather than have to write out these ridiculous numbers.

Thanks Andrew. That makes sense and thanks for the tip on Sass. I'll be moving on to that soon.
