What are the recommended number of sprites per animation?

I'm creating a 2d endless runner with multiple animations per character and I'm curious if there is a recommended number of sprites based on the length of the animation. Also I'm not sure if this is covered in later videos but what's the best way to check if your animation looks good before exporting it?

16 sprites per second is the minimum for animation to look good. 24 will be better. Hope that helps.
