What are the rules for creating a fan site? I want to create a website for fans to enjoy for a certain show.

I am looking to create a website along the way as I learn from treehouse so I can use what I learn instantly. I am looking to create something for people to visit and look at pictures, video and show information. I am not looking to make money off of it I simply want to create something for others to enjoy. Are there copyright laws I need look at or any type of rule at all? I plan on using pictures and video from the web to fill the site.

P.S. Thinking about the walking dead or game of thrones for the show focused website.

Copy right can be a very difficult subject and it can also largely depend on the studio's opinion. If you are just going to have a few images of an episode or such, then you should be OK, but it can be tricky. You would most likely be mostly using Fair Use.

I would suggest taking a look at the copyright course. You can really learn a lot about copy right laws from it. http://teamtreehouse.com/library/copyright-basics
