What are ways a newbie like me can get better & retain info with Android track?

Just like some, I am going through the Android track but if someone were to throw a random quiz my brain would only recall up 20-30 percent of what I learned. I heard in high studies that a better way to retain is to the teach, but it is possible? What methods has helped you get better & retain as much as you learn? Is it okay to use my Track app project for reference since my memory isn't the greatest?

Create an acronym for the classes in the course and review the concepts or actions in your mind using the acronym. It can even be a favorite work of yours then just attribute specific actions with the letters you choose that involve the Android lessons.

I would come up with an app idea, and then develop it, that's the best way to retain the Android stuff (and other tracks), hands-on is always good.
