What are we supposed to paste here? The full KaraokeMachine.java file that has been refactored right?

My code runs perfectly in the IDE, however, when I copy my code and paste it into this quiz and try to "check work" it keeps saying I have an syntax error where it can't find the .getArtist() method.... which I know is in the Song.java file that is not part of this quiz... I don't know where I am going wrong... I know my code is right if it is running in the IDE... any ideas?

If you look at the SongBook class, the method getArtist does not exist but it is actually "getArtists". It does make sense because you are expecting an Array not a single value. Maybe check the settings on your IDE?

    private String promptArtist() throws IOException {
        System.out.println("Available artists: ");
        List<String> artists = new ArrayList<>(mSongBook.getArtist());
        int index = promptForIndex(artists);
        return artists.get(index);
    }

Should be:

    private String promptArtist() throws IOException {
        System.out.println("Available artists: ");
        List<String> artists = new ArrayList<>(mSongBook.getArtists());
        int index = promptForIndex(artists);
        return artists.get(index);
    }

Thank you! You are completely right. I coded all of this in a text editor and then imported it to IntelliJ. In my own file I have the getArtists() method named getArtist() ... which was throwing the error. Appreciate the help! I doubt I would have been able to come up with that on my own.
