I've started learning iOS development about a year ago. I switched to Swift when it came out.
I love making iOS apps and would like to make it my living. Now, I know I can't really on making money from the App Store, so I'd like to work for another company, but what does it really take to be a professional?
I know that my code is rather bad right now, but it is getting better every day. I have been building an app that I will soon release on the App Store and I plan on making it better and better. But as it is a podcast app, there are frameworks I just don't interact with (like Core Graphics for example).
I found this post which I think is great: https://www.codefellows.org/blog/everything-a-competent-ios-developer-needs-to-know
I don't expect to fill a senior developer position straight away but I am really wondering, what do I need to do to be job-ready?
Thanks

To be a outstanding professional developer, you must show passion in the work that you are doing. I highly suggest that you work hard on Treehouse and complete as many code challenges and quizzes as you can to build a complete foundation of knowledge in the fields that you may be wanting to enter. It sounds from your question that you do have a passion for iOS Development, that is great! iOS Programming Jobs are extremely high paying jobs that take hard work and critical thinking. To answer the second part of your question, you must be ready to work in that field in a snap. I recommend that you read some blogs of iOS Developers to get their perspective on their work and also to see what kind of work they do. I wish the best of luck to you!

8,275 PointsI would say.. create some apps for yourself (portfolio).. then maybe think about re-factoring them so you are not using "bad" code.. put these on your CVs.. you will probably get junior/mid level role.. and just climb up the ladder..
