What if I dont have a GIT account?

Rudy on Rails course is asking me to download the railsinstaller, no problem but then the application asks me to enter my GIT information, GIT does not allow you to work unless you have Mac OSX 10.7 - I have 10.6

What do I do?

Git is available on all versions of OS X. A quick Google produced these instructions on how to compole git on snow leopard
