what is a doc string ?

i can't remember what a doc string is, could somebody tell me please

A docstring is a string literal that occurs as the first statement in a module, function, class, or method definition. I don't recall if or where they are discussed in this course, but there's a Docstrings video in the "Write Better Python" course.
