What is difference between var html=""; and var html;?

I know var html=""; is giving empty space for var html. But isn't var= html; same thing?

By itself, "var html;" is just a declaration, it creates a new variable but it does not assign any value to it.

Until something is assigned to it, any attempt to access it will return undefined.

Thank you
