What is the best way to get a job in Front-End Web Development if you do not have experience?

Hello everyone,

I want to start by saying that this forum is full of some great people. I've asked a few questions before and had them answered pretty much on the spot. A friend told me about Treehouse 3 weeks ago and I have been on it every single day. This is my life. I know that this is the direction I want to go in.

Does anybody have any advice or personal experience on how to move toward a career in front-end web development?

Build a portfolio. Showcase your talent. Create your own experience by doing the work. That way you can then show off what you did. Also network as much as you can. Follow people on twitter and read blogs. This can help you with knowledge and also a way to help you network.

Gain experience by building something awesome. Then put your code on GitHub so that prospective employers can see what you're capable of.

Also, don't forget about networking and developing soft skills.

Good luck!
