What is the best way to practice webdesign and development for beginners?

Hello,

I have been following Web Design(html & css) videos and have got fairly good knowledge of concepts, however I am failing to put that knowledge in practice. I want to start building a website from scratch but I can not start because I do not have a design to play around with. What could I do, which will allow me to grasp the concepts in detail.

Also, is Bootstrap good for beginners?. I did try Bootstrap 3 tutorials but then again it will not strengthen my base knowledge of HTML & CSS. Please help.

To strengthen your html and css skills, you can try to build some websites. Probably you can start with a simple website about yourself or help any friends or family to build one for their business. You can always start with sketching what you have in your mind on a paper before you start to code.

Bootstrap is good for both beginners and experts. You can use Bootstraps easily to build a website by using the default CSS style. As you go more advance, you can still use Bootstrap to cut down a lots of time on building a site from scratch.

I'd work through these projects http://www.pairuptocode.com/Level1.html#

And then try and re-create these http://codepen.io/collection/ehqoD

You are awesome Mr J. Thank you Dean :).
