2,412 PointsWhat is the correct syntax?
I am give the Syntax Error: def add_list(list)
# add_list([1, 2, 3]) should return 6
# summarize([1, 2, 3]) should return "The sum of [1, 2, 3] is 6."
# Note: both functions will only take *one* argument each.
sum = ()
def add_list(list)
for item in list:
sum = sum + item
return(sum)
print (sum)

I see a couple of mistakes in your code.
Probably the syntax error comes from the fact that you are missing a colon in the function definition, it should be:
def add_list(list_a):
Also, I would initialize the variable sum inside the function and not outside, setting it equal to 0.
Lastly, we don't want to print anything here, we should only return the total value of the items.
Let me know if you need further help
