What is the difference between a string and a variable?
Chuck Underwood22,751 Points
A variable for storing information. Consider it a box. When you want to save something you put it in the box. It will stay in the box until you are ready to use it later. You can also replace what you are storing with something else.
A string is a group of characters. A string is just one of the things that can be stored in the variable. In Python, a variable can store a string, a number, an array, a function and many more different items.
