What is wrong with this SQL statement? SELECT * FROM users WHERE last_name = "Hinkley" OR "Pettit";

This is very frustrating, as I believe that this SQL statement is correct. Please tell me what I am missing.

You can combine expressions, but they must be complete.

You have the right idea about combining expressions in your WHERE clause, but the expressions themselves must be complete. So where you have this:

... WHERE last_name = "Hinkley" OR "Pettit"

You might write this instead:

... WHERE last_name = "Hinkley" OR last_name = "Pettit"

Also, this may not have been introduced in your course yet, but another way to do this would be:

... WHERE last_name IN ("Hinkley", "Pettit")
