2,766 PointsWhat long-term track plan should I consider and what tracks have you personally taken and enjoyed?
Hi all! I'm a new Tree House student and have been loving my time here so far. I often browse these forums, not that I can be of much assistance yet but I really like seeing how everyone is so quick and happy to assist other students. I am however shocked by how limited the community conversational discussions there are compared to how-to questions.
My question, and conversation starter is, as someone who is interested in becoming a well rounded web developer creating mostly websites, what tracks should I look into? What tracks to start with are pretty straight forward but in the longterm where should I look to go?
Further more, I am curious on an unrelated note to my own experience on tree house I am curious what tracks everyone else has taken for their own ambitions!

15,353 PointsI'll tell you my experience. I started off with HTML, CSS, JavaScript as those are popular languages and they're easy to learn as there are free resources everywhere and treehouse has a lot of information on those topics. Since you want to be a web developer, I suggest starting off with those languages. Start with the web design course and do the javascript track alongside it. At times it's not very straight forward and very frustrating but I guess it's just part of the learning process.
Personally, I left the web development side because I ended up not becoming fully interested in doing so. I'm doing the java course right now (well im almost done it) and although it was absolutely hard and hellish, I have learned immensely. I probably learned months of knowledge in around just a month. I plan to go into android maybe after a month or so after I really become proficient at Java and also because I can't dedicate that much time these days to learning.

2,766 Pointsvery cool! I have done 14 weeks of java in college. It is a very interesting and powerful language and if I was to ever abandon the web I would get back into java.
It is confusing but I've studied numerous programming languages and only recently had the chance to slow down on conventional learning and learn web development skills here on treehouse
