What Next?

Hi, you experienced people must be tired of this question, But.... I have just completed a basic web build with Nick Petit (which I found great, being a complete novice) but I am a bit confused about where to go next. Could some kind soul put me on a good learning path. thanks Richard.

What is your end goal, eg front-end development, design etc. What did you enjoy most about the course you just finished. Answer me those and I will see If I can point you in the right direction :)

Adam, thanks for the quick response, I "enjoyed" all of the course, I suppose my goal is just to become proficient and maybe eventually to pick up some free lance work creating or maintaining sites, but not to make a career with it< I'm far to advanced in years and still have all my hair which I'd like to hold on to.

Try this Project: How to make a website or explore some CSS videos, they will be helpful for understanding the process of creating a web page.

Hey Juan, just checked out your link, That's the Project I just completed,

Depends on what you want to focus on. My tip is that you follow any of the tracks. It takes things in a logical approach.

Thanks Juan & Joakim, The track I was on seems to have derailed me, how would I get back on?

Richard Roche Your never to old to learn new things. As for the hair I can see your point as I am 30 and its already going lol. From your reply I would definitely take the Front-End Developer track linked at the end of this post. This will give you a great foundation to get some freelance work in creating simple static websites and earn some money while doing so.

Things it covers are HTML (Structure), CSS (Style), SASS (Which is amazing) and JavaScript (Flair) Also Console and GitHub. I would also do the framework basics course too along side this track as it will introduce you to others ways of doing things as long as you don't blindly use them, you have to really inspect the code you are using from the frameworks to learn more.

Once you finish this track you may decide you want to get crazy and look into the back end languages like PHP (Even a minimal PHP knowledge would help you create more dynamic content, especially using PHP includes to save repeating content for things like headers, navs, footers), WordPress (This is what powers most websites so would be nice to add to your collection) and my favourite and also the thorn in my side Ruby on Rails which is used to build web applications.
