2,292 PointsWhat should I be learning, and whats the milestone, for looking for a job in java?
I just finished Objects in java, the beginners course. It's not in the techDegree area of the website. I love programming in all forms. It's a passion of mine and I definitly want to be able to get to the level and drop everything that I'm doing to start getting paid for it. I want to become a digital nomad and work from my laptop.
I am unsure on what exactly I want to do though, and learning Java with that mindset is kind of empty. I know what language I'm supposed to be learning, but I dont know why.
Is there any kind of "level" of knowledge that is the usual milestone for starting an attempt at getting hired? (i'm assuming so, double ended question: if not, correct me, if so, I'd like to know what it is I should have in my portfolio or anything else)
My interests involve app development, website development, but I'm also open to other ideas that I havent thought of yet.
Lastely, how soon (in months), if i'm learning every day, could I start expecting to start looking for a job. I just finished the basics of java, objects, and made the game Hangman.
Thank you :D
