I have done the first task as it says, but the second task is a little tricky for me to understand. Also, anything i put for task number 2 pops up an error that says check task number 1. Please help.

script.js
var wholesalePrice = 5.45;
var retailPrice = 9.99;
var quantity = 47;
var salesTotal = retailPrice * quantity;
var profit = salesTotal - (wholeSalePrice * quantity);

i guess its a typo wholeSalePrice -> wholesalePrice

you have capital S

also you can write

var profit = salesTotal - wholesalePrice * quantity;

you can read on operator precedence here https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Operators/Operator_Precedence

Variable wholesalePrice and wholeSalePrice it's different variable. You need to change first line (var wholeSalePrice = 5.45;) or last line (var profit = salesTotal - (wholesalePrice * quantity); )
