What should I type in to get a nano? When I use "git commit" nothing happens

Do you get any message at all? If you don't have anything to commit, you won't get an editor, but you should still get a message saying that you have nothing to commit.

Of course, if you use the -m option to specify your commit message, then it won't fire up an editor.

Hey! have someone resolved this? mine comes up with this message:

treehouse:~/workspace/medals$ git commit
On branch master
nothing to commit, working directory clean

mine says fatal: Not a git repository (or any parent up to mount point /home/treehouse/workspace)
Stopping at filesystem boundary (GIT_DISCOVERY_ACROSS_FILESYSTEM not set).

When he brings up Nano he says he reset to before he committed the medals.html, how do i do that..
