What to do after JavaScript Foundation

Hi all,

I would like to get some advice, tips, and/or resources about what to do to improve my JavaScript skills once I finish with the JavaScript foundation course. (video courses, books, websites, blogs, etc).

If you know of any specific resource that has step-by-step instructions, that would be great! For example, when I was studying PHP I had these video tutorials that taught you PHP while building a blogging platform. (something similar but then for JavaScript would be a good idea)

Treehouse is coming up with an AngularJs and an Ember.js tutorial this month, so those are worth watching out for. Also be sure to check out the other JS tutorials like Ajax Basics and jQuery Basics.

Outside of Treehouse I would suggest looking into object oriented programming with js and coming up with practice projects. Really just getting an idea for a small app and then figuring out how to develop it is a really good learning strategy now that you know the basics.

Also, keep up with blogs, podcasts, social or other sources of news to get inspired for new little projects you can try or tools you can experiment with. I have been watching some speakers from Fluent Conference 2014 on YouTube and have been enjoying that.

Hopefully that helps you navigate your learning a bit!

Thanks! I just spend some time watching videos from the fluent conference. Interesting stuff!

I'd suggest you follow the Front-end development track here on Treehouse to give you a good foundation for your JavaScript skills.
