Hi everyone, I just "completed" the iOS courses (blogreader and crystal ball) and I was thinking about what I should do next. I'm waiting for the iOS course and while I wait I thought about either starting Android development (but I never used Android before) or doing the Become a web designer/developer. I'm not sure about which is better and I'm still practising iOS (as soon as I find myself a simple project to do... any ideas?) but I thought I could start doing other stuff as well, or I could re-do the iOS courses. 1 more thing, I'm trying to pick courses which are fun and could generate some income for me as I'm starting university in London in September ( I'm going to be studying Politics so programming is just my hobby/plan b).
So any ideas?
Thanks!

6,531 PointsWhat is your goal? I'm just about finished with the Become a Web Designer learning adventure. I've found that I need to constantly make stuff along the way to solidify what I see in the videos, or else I forget and have to watch the videos again. And then I still forget some stuff anyway. It's taken several months of commitment so far. I couldn't imagine spending all that time just to forget it all a few weeks later.
What I'm getting at is that unless you definitely plan to make web sites, you might be wasting time sharpening a skill that will just become dull right afterwards. While it's great to learn things, we won't live long enough to learn everything there is to know about everything in the world. Don't stretch yourself out too thin. But if you intend to make websites, go for it.

6,813 PointsHey David,
Maybe you can create an app to assist you while you are at the University studying politics.
- Quiz App
- Flash/Study Card App
- Keep track of my grades app
There are countless of ideas that you might get while you start attending classes. As long as we continue working on projects we can continue to get better at coding and problem solving.
Good luck with classes in the fall!

Treehouse TeacherIf you're looking to generate some income, I'd definitely check out our Android courses! Making money on apps is hard, but you'll have a much better chance if your app is available on both iOS and Android. The Android market for apps has been surging lately, too. Per user revenue is up 2.5 times over the previous year, according to the latest stats from Google I/O in June. Users still spend more on iOS apps (per user), but with more people using Android, you really can't afford to ignore it.
It's also a great way to cement the mobile concepts that are common between the two platforms. Amit and I work on the same apps intentionally so that people who learn both can see how things are done similarly or differently in both.
