Java

What version of Java is being taught in the beginning Java videos?

I started with the beginning Java tutorials.... I am seeing commands like console.printf("$s is a name", <variable name>); couldn't we just use something like system.out.println("<variable name> is a name"); ? How old is the version of Java being taught?

Hey, println and printf are two different things. And the latest version of Java is being taught. Println prints text on a page with a new line after it. Prinf formats a variable into a line of text. When I first learned that I was confused too.

Thank you for clearing that up. I appreciate it!!!!
