Hey guys, I was just wondering what sites would help me out/be advantageous when starting a career in web development? I was thinking sites such as Github, Codepen, LinkedIn, Twitter and StackOverflow. Are these sites worth using? and if you can think of any more, please let me know. Thanks.

First of all, I would like to specify the difference between sites for learning (as Teamtreehouse, which is a very good place to learn 'cause their high quality video-content), and sites that are useful for consolidating you web developer career.
There are lots of sites for e-learning; TeamTreeHouse, FreeCodeCamp, CodeCademy, Google Activate (Wops, I think this is available only in Spanish), among other great websites. Again, TreeHouse is a great place, specially for start learning new technologies which you haven't worked yet, I was working 2 years as Web developer, and now I'm consolidating and expanding my knowledgement thanks to this site, but often I use others that are also great options!
There are other sites where you must be, if you would like to get a place in this huge world! Github and Stackoverflow are two of them. Creating or collaborating in open source projects are great ways to make CV (and continue expanding your knowledgment :) ), and this would be reflected in your Github profile.
I'm not sure if Twitter is important as Github or Stackoverflow, I'm not using Twitter in a professional way, unless for the moment. I use LinkedIn as a professional social network, and it is a great place for make visible your CV, and find job opportunities.
Also, making a personal blog where you share your experiences is a good option for promoting, and contributing to improve the almost-infinite Internet documentation.

31,258 PointsPersonally I use all those that you've mentioned as well as follow relevant subreddits ie /r/webdev.
Thanks to FreeCodeCamp I have a Medium.com profile but haven't posted anything yet. I have read some useful posts in the past, but I think I'd prefer to set up my own blog for posting such articles.
Additionally if you're so inclined, there are some great channels on YouTube and even Twitch that you can either follow or start posting your own content.
Also I've recently started using Slack which is primarily a messaging platform for teams, but there are some useful communities freely available for designers and developers of all ages and abilities to join. There are some good examples here to get you started.
