Java Java Basics Using your New Tools Multiple Format Strings

What's wrong here?

String name = console.readLine("Escribe un nombre "); String pastTenseVerb = console.readLine("comía"); console.printf = ("%s really %s", name, pastTenseVerb);

Multiple.java
// I've imported java.io.Console for you. It is stored in a variable called console for you.
String name = console.readLine("Escribe un nombre ");
String pastTenseVerb = console.readLine("comía");
console.printf = ("%s really %s", name, pastTenseVerb);

Hi Jorge,

You're doing really well, but there is a syntax error in the last line.

console.printf() is a method. Note how the parenthesis are right up against the text...
Methods take parameters, which are passed inside of the parenthesis. In your code above, you are trying to assign a value (as you would with a variable) by using the assignment operator (the equal sign), and this cannot be done with methods. So, if you just remove the equal sign and the space, the task will pass.

console.printf("%s really %s", name, pastTenseVerb);

Other than that, good job! :thumbsup:

Keep Coding! :) :dizzy:
