Course design decisions reflect the instructors best attempt to gradually introduce concepts essential to a language at a rate that the instructors believe is the best way to teach a beginner from the ground up. The courses follow a linear path, trying to only use concepts that have been previously established in prior videos.

If you already have a grasp on certain concepts, consider speeding up the videos, skimming course titles before beginning, and/or only watching content that you feel will advance your understanding of the language or desired concept. You could also go straight to the quizzes and code challenges and return to videos as needed if you are unable to complete the quizzes/code challenges.

While the courses are designed to help a beginner from the ground up, guided by knowledgeable staff and community support along the way, your mileage may vary. Use it the way you need it.
