when he did a descendant on the ul list the blue letters was still there when he change the color to white, why is it ?

You forgot the course and stage, but I think I found it: this video, CSS Basics/Basic Selectors/Descendant Selectors.

Links have their own CSS rules that cause them to be blue if unvisited and purple if visited.

But if you continue on to 03:58 in the same video, you can see the white style being applied to non-link text.
