When I try to add the "my site" folder into github i keep getting an error message. Anyway to fix this ?

when I try to add the my site folder into GitHub I get a message that says "this directory is not a git repository. Would you like to create on here instead."

Try cd into the directory that you want to put on GitHub (in the Terminal) and type:

git init

By the way, I recommend learning Git before learning GitHub :)
