Courses Plus Student 15,286 PointsWhen will all the Android courses be updated to the Android Studio version?
Are there any news about this matter? I know there is not a massive difference between Eclipse and Android Studio, but given the fact that this something very new to me, I would prefer to learn in a less confusing manner (did the first updated course and loved it), so what and when in the future can we expect all the courses to be updated?

Courses Plus Student 15,286 PointsAurelian, android development used to happen traditionally in an IDE like Eclipse, via the SDK Google provided. Now that has moved into a separate software called Android Studio. Obviously, just like in Eclipse, Android development is still Java based and not C, C was never an Android thing. C, or rather Obj-C is an Apple thing, although it's now moving to Swift. What Android Studio brings to the table is a targeted environment built for exactly one thing: Android Development.

Courses Plus Student 15,286 PointsOkay, this is very off-topic now, but what you need is a MacBook Pro 15" Retina with 256GB of SSD, quad core CPU and 16GB of RAM. Costs £1600 @ the Apple Store.

Courses Plus Student 15,286 PointsNeah, no way. Lynda and even Google themselves have moved to Android Studio. Check their latest courses and blog-posts. Eclipse has nothing to do with Android itself. It's a multi-purpose IDE, while Android Studio, a bit (or a lot) like xCode for Apple, is designed specifically to tackle Android development. And for good reason. Android Studio is good, and faster than Eclipse (or at least that's my experience). The issue is that pretty much everywhere only the introductory courses are in Android Studio (except Udacity, which is the official Android Course, and tackles more than the very basics), but I was curious when this update will happen on Treehouse as I prefer their teaching style compared to Udacity or Lynda.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your view on the matter.

7,369 PointsHm well, since i read what you write , in Android Studio you program in like Java i guess and dont use C ? if yes or something like that , as you wrote eclipse can handle more of it , it may be because Android Studio is better for the android developement and its easier and all that stuff for the deveoper that provides more useful and less complicated things than in eclipse . Thats what i think for now .

7,369 PointsHi, i dont know anything about app developement but as i saw on lynda.com and here so in other places, most of them uses eclipse . I think its better in some way so i think they will continue using eclipse since its very powerful i think .
