where is Attach?

James Churchill you in Updating Entities CRUD operation in Entity Frame Work Basics you have used this code

context.ComicBooks.Attach(comicBook);
context.Entry(comicBook).State=EntityState.Modified;
context.SaveChanges();

where as in this tutorial you haven't yoused Attach(comicBook) insted you wrote

_context.Entry(comicBook).State=EntityState.Modified;
_context.SaveChanges();

what was the difference i mean both the snipets works well for updating or editing the content i mean what is the role of Attach in when we are Attaching the comicBook to ComicBooks collection?
