So I'm about to finish the Python track and I'm trying to figure out what to do next. I already know HTML, CSS and some Javascript. I want to pursue more topics in web design and development. So what next? Is web.py worth knowing? Flask? django? ruby? PHP? So many options. So confusing. What do you guys (and girls) think?

35,560 PointsHi Gordon, What is your current employment situation? Do you have a developer job or still learning the trade? If you are still learning and yet to seek a job in development I would suggest looking for local jobs and seeing what skills the majority of jobs are asking for. Hope this helps!

2,521 PointsWell, I'm not currently employed in the trade. I used to do electronic product design and a little programming when necessary. I'll date myself when I mention that I know FORTRAN, BASIC, Pascal, C, lots of assembler. Python was the shop standard at the last place I worked, so I thought it would be a good idea to learn that. So now I want to apply my new found Python skills. But I'm not sure just where and how. Well, in this town, maybe something web related.

3,940 PointsHi Gordan,
I listened to a podcast that really helped me out. I think the title was "stop learning and start doing." I was trying to learn as much as I can and wondered the same thing after HTML, CSS and JS.
So I put that concept to practice and started doing projects. Currently, I've launched 3 official websites for companies, and a couple about to start. I found that while applying the fundamentals of what I learned, I started to get an idea of where to go next. I've converted two of the 3 websites to be Responsive and the third is in the process of implementing a blog.
So...my road started with HTML, CSS, and JS and went to HTML5, CSS3, RWD. Right now I am contemplating back-end with either PHP or Ruby...and possibly a little Wordpress. So to sum up all I wrote: the best way to find out where to go next for me was to just put into practice and implementing what I had learned. My clients and current demands have led me to seek after back-end and responsive design. The demand and need may differ with you, but try out your new found skills!
Oh! and one of my clients is planning on having me make an App (iOS and Android) relating to their company which makes me excited to take those courses here.
Hope that helps.
