Where to start on my path to becoming a fully-fledged iOS developer?

Hi All,

I'm a pretty confident web developer, with a full-time developer job in a constantly-evolving company.

Some of our clients have expressed interest in us making them iOS applications but we've only ever done web stuff.

I've expressed interest in becoming the 'lead' on the iOS front, but I'm unsure where to start. Obviously, I'm looking at taking one of the tracks on Treehouse, I'm just unsure which. Should I be looking into Objective-C, Swift, or Swift 2.0?

I briefly looked into Swift a while back, but I can't recall much, so I've decided to start from scratch!

Also, if any of you have some great external resources for learning iOS app development, I'd love to hear them!

Many thanks for your time! It's always appreciated. :)

For the most comprehensive experience, check out our brand new iOS Techdegree! It starts with Swift but weaves in Objective-C as both are important to know now iOS development.

If that's more than you need, then definitely go with the iOS Development with Swift 2.0 track. That's the future and where our focus is. We'll continue to offer and support Objective-C (we have more courses coming out), but Swift has already become the best place to start unless you need Objective-C for a specific job or project.

Thanks for the info Ben. I'll start with the Swift 2.0 track and see how I get on!
