7,758 PointsWhich Course? - Simple Database Website
Hi Guys. I need some advice.
I am looking to build a simple website that can list results from a database. I have no experience with back-end development so I'm not 100% sure which course I should use to get started.
I want to be able to search for a person and then have the results shown to the user for all the criteria that matched in the search. Basic stuff I think.
I have more experience on the front-end of things.
Cheers.

28,149 PointsReally just depends, any of the back end languages can do this, you're right, it's basic stuff. Many people start out in PHP for this reason or that. I like Ruby's syntax, but have heard great things about Python. I'm sure Java is a possibility.
But if you're more comfortable on the front end, you may want to look at Node.js as a way to run familiar javascript on a server, as a back end.
So PHP, Ruby, Python, Node...take your pick, there's even more to choose from!

7,758 PointsThanks for your reply. Think I like the look of Ruby so I'm gonna take a swing at the Build a Simple Ruby on Rails Application course. Reckon I might find some answers in there.
