Why do i only have funFactsActivity.kt instead of funFactsActivity.java in my Android Studio in the Java folder?

I was trying to make changes to the Java file as shown in this video but cannot find that file. Mine is only showing .kt file instead of .java. Also the syntax used/shown in the video does not seem to match my file. I have Android Studio version 3.1.4.

It seems you somehow managed to create the project (or just that file) using Kotlin language instead of Java. Please try creating a new project and make sure you don't select anything that has "Kotlin" in it. When you're done with these courses, however, consider learning and using Kotlin for Android development - it is now the first-class language for Android and is much more pleasant to use than Java in my opinion ;)
