I mean, from the start. I googled it and it starts with lower case .. Why do we need it? just in order to make it look neat?

23,464 PointsI believe it was intended to make code easier to read when you would name variables and such. So if you had something with a long name like:
varfortwotimesten
It's easier to read with camel case if you don't use any other spacing, such as an underscore:
varForTwoTimesTen
