JavaScript AngularJS Basics (1.x) Improving Our Todo App Finalizing Our Application

Why do we pass "todo" in saveTodos(todo) in the template?

Is it necessary to pass (todo) when calling the "saveTodos(todo)" from the template? In both the controller and the service, saveTodos(todos) take the whole array as a input not just the edited todo..

The function being called has no parameters:

// from main.js
    $scope.saveTodos = function () {
      var filteredTodos = $scope.todos.filter( function(todo) {
        if (todo.edited) {
          return todo
        }
      })

I therefore think when it is called, it needs no arguments:

// from todos.html
          ng-click='saveTodos()'>save

I could be wrong...
