Why do we use CourseIdeaDAO dao = new SimpleCourseIdeaDAO() instead of SimpleCourseIdeaDAO dao = new SimpleCourseIdeaDAO

I have read the linked tutorial, but it did not explain the reason. It states "Use the StudentDao to demonstrate Data Access Object pattern usage." instead. I'd like to know the real reason that we do it this way.
