Why do you use the word "copy" and "paste" when you should be using the word "cut" and "paste"?

It's confusing

Hi Chase,

I verified that at time code 1:57, the instructor does say "copy", but then appears to do a cut at time code 1:59. It's up to Treehouse to see if they want to re-shoot that segment for this error.

Did you find this to be a problem, or are you just pointing it out? If, for some reason, it caused you an issue, you may want to provide more detail so Treehouse can evaluate a fix.

Regards,

Jack

Jack Cain, I was just pointing it out so that in future recordings he would stop doing that. There were actually a good amount of videos where he did this and it can get confusing if you're listening and not paying close attention to the video.

I believe he says "copy" because he actually presses Cmd+C and then deletes the selected text. I agree it can sound confusing, though.

This is correct, I noticed it in an earlier vid.

Also, it doesn't matter so hard that this topic should never have existed.

Daniel,

I disagree. Please place yourself in the position of someone using a video to learn a new topic. Even the smallest things can be confusing, or cause problems later. Programming requires exact syntax, and programming training needs to approach the subject matter from the same perspective.

Chase took the time to present this concept to Treehouse. Agree or disagree, I think folks who stop to take the time to help improve the content should be validated and encouraged.
