Why does Ackbar's warning flash before hiding?

When I load the example page with Admiral Ackbar for the "What is jQuery?" video, the warning "It's a trap!" flashes for a split second before hiding.

Is there any way to eliminate this effect?

Thank you!

:point_right: The "flash" is because the JavaScript only executes after the page is fully loaded.

You can eliminate this by using CSS to conceal the message initially instead of hiding it with JavaScript.

I would have given a specific code example if you had provided the original code or linked to it.

 <!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
    <title>Take Evasive Action</title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" title="no title" charset="utf-8">
</head>
<body>
  <p class="warning">
    <span>It's A Trap!</span>
  </p>
  <div class="image">
    <img src="img/ackbar.gif" />
  </div>
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.11.0.min.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>
    <script src="js/app.js" type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8"></script>
</body>
</html>
$(".warning").hide().show("slow");

Sorry about that, here is the code!
